The challenge
Centralize the data from suppliers, consolidate the shipments, determine the correct container size, and meet the cutoff time.I have identified the challenges users are currently facing and formulated a question on how we can solve these problems.

Secondary research
Here are the six main points and supporting articles you may consider when consolidating multiple shipments. Drawing from my logistics experience, I identified key insights and further validated them through secondary research.
User interview
My target audience consists of a specific group of individuals with experience in logistics, including those from freight forwarding, supply chain, and trading companies. I reached out to professionals on LinkedIn, specifically targeting individuals with relevant logistics experience. Additionally, I leveraged my network of former coworkers from my time working in the logistics industry.
User research-LinkedIn poll
I needed a specific target group, so I joined several LinkedIn groups related to the field. I created polls and received responses, about 70% of participants supported the idea, indicating that the app concept is worth pursuing.
Affinity mapping
Through my research and affinity mapping, I found that time, coordination, and cost are among the primary challenges currently facing the industry.
Persona
I created a persona from the perspective of a user, a trading company that consolidates shipments to send overseas.

Visual information
Before
After
I added the bar and vessel name, and included the ETD (Estimated Time of Departure) at the port of loading and ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) at the port of discharge to make the information more visually accessible

Added container number filter
Before
After
I received feedback from users suggesting that it would be better to have a feature that allows filtering shipments by container number. When a user consolidates and places a booking, they may not have a container number yet. However, for past shipments, having the container number is a useful standard for locating shipments.

Consolidate your shipments
The cargo cut-off date is an important deadline for loading shipments. A user will be able to filter shipments that can be ready on time by setting the cargo cut-off date.
After loading the shipment, a user clicks on the cart, which will take them to the consolidation screen.

The app will display the selected shipments from the user. When the user clicks on the 'Consolidate' button, a loading page will appear while the app calculates the size of the shipments and shows how full the container is.

Book with carriers
Users can sort the vessels by selecting options based on their priorities, such as earliest departure, shortest transit time, or lowest freight cost.

Learning
It’s difficult to gather all the data I need. For example, sometimes interviewees don’t discuss many things if they don’t have a lot of experience, as everyone has different work experiences, even within the same logistics field.
If I had more time, I would design the vendor details section more prominently. Now, I think it should be one of the key features that I should have included in the navigation bar.
